In-House Pharmacy & Pet Supplies in Boulder

Expert in-house pharmacy & pet supplies in Boulder. Licensed, insured, upfront pricing.

Surgery day is stressful for owners even when the procedure itself is routine, so Pearl Street Animal Hospital runs the same careful protocol whether it’s a first spay or a mass removal in a senior patient: pre-operative bloodwork, a technician dedicated to anesthesia monitoring from induction to recovery, and a written estimate you approve before the morning begins. You get a call the moment your pet is in recovery, and again that evening once they’re home, so you’re never left guessing how the day went.

What's Included

What this visit includes

  • Spays, neuters, mass removals, and soft-tissue procedures
  • Pre-operative bloodwork required before any anesthesia, every time
  • A technician dedicated solely to anesthesia monitoring during the procedure
  • A written estimate approved before your pet goes back
  • A call the moment your pet is out of surgery and into recovery
  • A same-evening check-in call once your pet is home

What To Expect

How the visit goes

  1. Pre-surgical workup

Bloodwork and a physical exam confirm your pet is a safe candidate, and we walk you through the written estimate before you drop off.

  2. Drop-off and induction

A calm, Fear Free–handled drop-off. You know roughly when to expect the recovery call before you leave the parking lot.

  3. Dedicated monitoring throughout

One technician’s only job during the procedure is watching your pet’s vitals — nothing about anesthesia is left unattended.

  4. Recovery and the evening call

You hear from us the moment your pet is in recovery, then again that evening to check how they’re doing at home.

Questions

Questions about in-house pharmacy & pet supplies

How much does a visit cost?

The exam fee is quoted when you book, and anything beyond the exam — labs, imaging, treatment — comes as a written estimate you approve before we proceed. You will never learn a price for the first time at checkout.

What if something happens outside your hours?

Our overnight and off-hours calls route to an on-call triage line staffed by veterinary professionals who can see our patients’ charts. For true emergencies they will direct you to the nearest 24-hour hospital and send your records ahead.

My pet is terrified of the vet. How do you handle that?

This is exactly what our Fear Free certification is for. We schedule longer appointments, use treats and non-slip surfaces, offer feline-only morning blocks with a quiet lobby, and will prescribe pre-visit calming medication when it helps. Many of our most relaxed patients arrived as shaking rescues.
